Institute says Governor Eno built 107 roads, 40 bridges in Three Years

The Nigeria Institute of Social Media Analysts (NISMA) said Monday that Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has completed 107 road projects—including 11 dual carriageways—and 40 bridges over the past three years, delivering a total of 1,304.722 kilometres of roads across the State’s three senatorial districts.

The figures were disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by NISMA Registrar Dr. Maryam Hamza following what the organization described as an inspection of the State.

NISMA said 11 of the projects are dual carriageways totaling 611.533 kilometres and that 26 of the bridges are part of that tally.

The group also said Governor Eno inherited and completed 41 road projects spanning 341.359 kilometres, including 14 bridges, and that 43 projects financed through the Akwa Ibom State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (AKS‑RAAMP) account for 351.83 kilometres of the work.

NISMA lauded the governor’s efforts as a counter to a wider national shortfall in infrastructure, saying the roadworks have narrowed the gap between urban and rural areas and helped curb rural‑to‑urban migration by improving access to services and markets.

“Farmers now have unhindered access to their farms because of the motorable roads in these areas,” the institute said, adding that improved routes have allowed producers to transport fresh goods to markets and secure better prices.

NISMA, which describes itself as an advocacy body that monitors public policy online, said it had produced the assessment after a team inspection and emphasized its role in “speaking truth to power.”

NewsQuest reports that the group however did not provide detailed project-level documentation or a breakdown of funding sources in the release.
