First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will champion a new Federal Government initiative to identify and market Nigerian inventions, part of a broader drive to shift the country from being a technology importer to innovator and exporter.

The programme titled “Energise Commercialisation,” comes from the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology and is designed to nurture ideas into businesses, especially among youth and women, by offering platforms, training, and institutional backing.

The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh announced the First Lady’s role during a visit to her at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said “We have the brains in this country, and government is committed to helping innovators realize their potential.”

The Minister vowed to scout talent in schools, communities, and even remote areas.

According to him, sensitizations efforts are already underway and will soon reach the 36 States of the Federation.

The Minister emphasized harnessing local ingenuity to fuel economic growth amid the global tech boom. Mrs. Tinubu’s leadership, he added, will rally nationwide participation.

Senior Special Assistant on Media to the First Lady Busola Kukoyi in a statement Wednesday said that the programme prioritizes grassroots discovery, skill-building, and market readiness to turn inventions into viable products.
