The first Professor of Radioecology in Africa, Bernard Babatunde on Wednesday tied the knot of his 21-year marriage in a ceremony of holy matrimony attended by prominent Nigerian leaders in Abuja.
It was a moment that the couple, who dressed elegantly in traditional attires, could not hold back from displaying in public how they have been living in marital bliss.
Professor Babatunde and his wife Dr. Tolulope Mohammed were wedded at the Holy Family Catholic Church Life Camp in the colourful event attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume.
NewsQuest reports that Professor Babatunde has been a spacialist of Radioecology for many years, a complex multidisciplinary branch of nuclear science concerned with the fate, human and environmental health of the impact of radioactivity from natural and man-made sources.
Senator Akume was accompanied to the ceremony by his wife, Honourable Regina Akume, a member of the House of Representatives representing Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency of Benue State.
In his homily, the officiating Priest, Reverend Father Anthony Olaniyan enjoined the couple to continue to be faithful in showing love to one another.

Father Olaniyan said in so doing, they will be able to train and grow their children in the fear of God as better future people.
The atmosphere of the wedding ceremony was an ambiance of a mixed culture of the Tiv and Yoruba.
Speaking to our correspondent, Professor Babatunde who is the Special Adviser Technical to the SGF said, he chose to celebrate in the Tiv and Yoruba cultures at the wedding because of his lineage from the two tribes.
“My mum is Tiv and brought me up to romance the two cultures of my father and hers. If you noticed, it was a blend,” Professor Babatunde said.
Babatunde is also a Professor of Environment and hails from Otan Ayegbaju, Osun State, while his best half is from Edo State.
The marriage which is blessed with three children is a true reflection of how cultural diversity has in many ways depicted the love among Nigerians as a people and in homes.
Professor Babatunde’s family love that is displayed in these years of marriage is one to emulate,” Mr. Terngu Tsavnum, one of the guests at the event told NewsQuest.
