He said that the interchange, which is designed to alleviate traffic congestion, enhance safety, and significantly improve the daily lives of residents and commuters in Abuja, was a crucial answer to the challenges posed by rapid urbanization, which, he described as a sign of growth.

“While our rapid urbanization, is a sign of growth, it has also presented challenges, particularly in ensuring smooth and efficient movement of people and goods. This interchange is a crucial answer to those challenges”, he explained.

A statement by Assistant Director of Press in the Minister’s officer Rabi Umar quoted the President as saying, “I commend the Federal Capital Territory Administration under the dynamic leadership of the Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for their vision, dedication, and tireless efforts in bringing this project to fruition. Their commitment to transforming Abuja into a world-class capital is evident in projects of this magnitude”.

The President stated that the commissioning of the bridge was a promise fulfilled; “And a glimpse into the future we are collectively building – a future where infrastructure serves as a catalyst for economic growth, where connectivity fosters unity, and where every Nigerian can access opportunities without hindrance. It stands as a symbol of what we can achieve when we work together with purpose and determination”.

Minister Wike in his remark, expressed his profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unwavering support and dedication to the transformation of the Federal Capital Territory, as marked by his presence in 10 out of the 17 days of project commissioning across the Territory to mark Mr. President’s second anniversary.

The Minister also appreciated the President for not only approving the projects but also assigning high-ranking dignitaries—including the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio—to represent him at these milestone events.

“The last ten days have demonstrated, beyond doubt, that President Tinubu is a leader of action. His vision is being translated into visible, tangible projects that are directly impacting the lives of our people”, Wike stated.

He noted that the successful execution of these projects was a result of close supervision and accountability. “We monitored these projects day and night to ensure quality, speed, and transparency. That’s the kind of leadership Mr. President has inspired in all of us”, he said.

Minister Wike emphasized that leadership matters and Nigeria is currently experiencing the results of purposeful, focused leadership. “President Tinubu has shown that with the right leadership, results will follow. What you are seeing today across the FCT—roads, bridges, schools, hospitals—are products of vision, courage, and capacity”, he remarked.

He reaffirmed the FCT Administration’s commitment to continue to work in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring that every project aligns with the needs of the people and the larger development goals of the Federal Government.

“We are not just building infrastructure, we are restoring trust in governance and delivering on the promise of a better capital city”, he concluded
