President Bola Timubu on Thursday expressed deep satisfaction with the People’s Republic of China for its consistent commitment of cooperation between the African continent through several areas of bilateral cooperation.
The President stated this in his address at the ongoing Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing.
“China has consistently demonstrated its commitment to Africa not only through financial and developmental support but also through cultural exchanges that bring our people closer and closer together,” Tinubu said.
The President explained that the establishment of Chinese cultural centers across Africa exemplifies tbe depth of cultural fusion between the continent and the Asian giant.
He said, “a land mark of our relationship came to fruition in year 2,000 with the establishment of FOCAC. This forum has been pivotal in strengthening our economic ties and reaffirming our commitment to mutual progress.”
President Tinubu told the gathering comprising African leaders and the United Nation’s Secretary General Anthonio Guterres that despite the global challenges including economic and geographic, the continent’s partnership with China has remained resolute offering a solid example of what can be achieved through respect for sovereignty and non-ingerference.
“The highlight of this collaboration has been the floeusihing economic partnership. Trade between Africa and China has grown exponentially reaching an estimated $280billion.
“This impressive figures speak volume about the strength of our economic relationship and expanding the integration of our market, President Timubu noted.
