President Bola Tinubu will on Monday convene the first meeting of his cabinet, the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the country’s highest policy making body, this coming months after he was sworn -in on May 29.
The President swore-in 45 ministers last week Monday after they were screened and confirmed by the Senate, charging them to support his government in building public confidence in Nigeria’s governance system.
The President had earlier assigned portfolios to the ministers breaking the tradition where the cabinet members had had to wait for their inauguration before knowing the respective ministries they were supposed to supervise.
Expectations are high from the new cabinet to help the government tackle rising cost of living, poverty, poor infrastructure, and the free fall of Naira.
