Vice President Kashim Shettima will Monday precide over a two-day national economic summit in a step to bolster coordination between the Federal Government and 36 States to drive inclusive growth.
Shettima, who also chairs the National Economic Council (NEC) will guide the sessions, expected to focus on fiscal coordination, investment mobilisation and collaborative strategies.
Those expected to attend are Governors of the 36 States, top officials, development partners and private-sector leaders between
9-10 February 2026 at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu will attend as special guest of honour, according to a statement from Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications in the Vice President’s office.
The event is being convened by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, and will adopt the theme: “Delivering Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development: The Renewed Hope National Development Plan.”

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and NEC Secretary Deborah Odo said the summit would address pressing macroeconomic priorities to foster nationwide growth and development.
