President Bola Tinubu on Sunday hailed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election in Osun State saying that the peaceful process affirms the resilience of Nigeria’s democratic process and signals continuity under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said “I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State.”

According to be President “His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him. I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years.”

President Tinubu urged Governor Adeleke to use his renewed mandate to heal political divisions and focus on stability and economic progress for all residents, regardless of how they voted. He also praised the conduct of the election’s other contestants, saying their participation strengthened Nigeria’s democratic culture.

“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” the president said.

President Tinubu commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for helping to deliver a peaceful and transparent contest that produced a clear winner.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced Governor Adeleke as winner of the Osun governorship election, with 511,067 votes and his closest rival of the APC Bola Oyebamiji scoring 444,815 votes.

The result was announced in Osogbo after collation across all 30 local government areas.

NewsQuest reports that the victory margin was 66,252 votes and made it a clear but competitive result in a closely watched race.
