The Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill has submitted a draft National Policing Bill, 2026, along with 29 related amendment bills, to the Federal Ministry of Justice for legislative review. President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday mourned Reuben Fasoranti, the centenarian leader of Nigeria’s pan-Yoruba Afenifere movement, recalling that the elder statesman had predicted in 2022 that he would become president. Fasoranti died at 100, according to announcements by Ondo State officials and his family. Two criticisms stand out: the inclusion of some opposition figures and the President’s acceptance of the Hope Uzodimma-led Progressive Governors’ recommendation that he should not campaign physically in all 36 states of the federation.
