The Presidency on Sunday categorically denied social media reports alleging an attempt to poison President Bola Tinubu, branding them as fabricated.
The claims, spread via a viral video, prompted a swift rebuttal from the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President Bayo Onanuga.
In a statement, Onanuga insisted no kitchen staff at the Presidential Villa in Abuja had been arrested, and no poisoning attempt had occurred.
“No Aso Rock kitchen staff arrested. No Aso Rock kitchen staff attempted to poison President Tinubu. Please ignore this fake news,” Onanuga wrote.
The Presidency urged Nigerians to verify information from credible sources, warning against the spread of unsubstantiated rumours that could incite unnecessary alarm.
