Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike has pledged to deliver basic infrastructure soon to the newly opened Waru-Pozema District, unlocking development for residents and builders in the capital’s Cadastral Zone D16.

Speaking to journalists after touring ongoing projects across Abuja, Minister Wike said his administration would collaborate with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), and other agencies to map out next steps, including checking if funding is included in the 2026 budget.

“We have to find out from the FCDA or the coordinator what they have in mind and whether it is captured in the 2026 budget,” Wike said.

He added that officials would do “everything possible” to equip the district and spur growth.

Minister Wike expressed satisfaction with progress on judicial projects.

At the Court of Appeal complex, the contractor promised completion by May, with judges’ quarters—including space for the Federal High Court—already furnished.

NewsQuest reports that the site features 10 duplexes for the Federal High Court, 20 for the FCT High Court, and 10 for the Court of Appeal.

Wike said the facilities would be inaugurated around Mr. Tinubu’s third anniversary in office this May.

He also inspected a ring-road-style project in Katampe, praising China Geo-Engineering Corporation for its reliability.

“It is one of those companies that when they give you their word, you can go to the bank with it,” Wike said, while commending FCT oversight.

Minister Wike attributed his hands-on inspections to the trust from President Bola Tinubu.

“For the President to have confidence in you and give you an assignment, you have no choice but to be committed to the job,” he said.

Touching on national politics, he urged unity in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), insisting that internal reconciliation must come before electoral planning.
