Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji on Monday joined the staff of the agency in Abuja to mark this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work, where he was honoured with a Safety Champion award by the Institute of Safety Professionals.
FIRS in a statement on its Facebook page said the celebration of the event by the nation’s top tax agency was a clear demonstration of commitment by its current management led by Dr. Adedeji for staff welfare.
The FIRS boss was recognized for his unwavering dedication to employee welfare and the implementation of high-quality health and safety measures at the workplace.
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work, which is observed annually on 28 April, was established by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2003.
The annual event promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally.
“The event kicked off at the boardroom of the FIRS Headquarters, with the Executive Chairman, FIRS, Zacch Adedeji, gracing the occasion with his presence.
“It is a clear demonstration of his commitment to promoting a safe and healthy work environment for the FIRS workforce,” the tax agency noted.
