Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State on Tuesday led a high-profile  delegation of critical stakeholders to the Presidential Villa where they vowed to boldly support for the re-election bid of the President Bola Tinubu in next year’s election.

The delegation comprised former governors, senators, military brass, clergy, and business leaders.

Governor Mbah at the meeting declared “We have come to state, boldly and without ambiguity, that this relationship has earned our trust and support.

“On that basis, we will stand proudly with you on election day in January 2027,” Governor Mbah said.

He stressed “At our backs are millions of men, women, and children whose lives are shaped, for better or worse, by our governance and by the decisions you make at the centre.”

The Enugu State Governor commended the President for his bold reforms including the removal of fuel subsidy that have freed resources for the sub-national government to deliver on critical projects and impact lives.

“You took difficult decisions – removing the fuel subsidy, unifying the exchange rate, strengthening public finances, and reforming the power sector to support investment.

“It is these bold decisions that have freed up resources, expanded sub-national support, and allowed states like ours to invest, to build, and to translate national decisions into tangible outcomes for our people,” Governor Mbah told President Tinubu.

Governor Mbah expressed gratitude for federal investments in Enugu State.

In his remarks, President Tinubu lauded Governor Mbah’s administration for strides in security, infrastructure, education, and healthcare—touting them as evidence that his government’s reforms are yielding “measurable outcomes” nationwide.

“Your work is extremely important for our people to flourish,” Tinubu told the group, which included ex-governors Sullivan Chime, Jim Nwobodo, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; former Senate President Ken Nnamani; Air Chief Marshal Kelvin Aneke; and figures like Father Ejike Mbaka and Frank Nweke Jr.

President Tinubu described the developments as a “remarkable moment” for Nigeria, crediting “purposeful governance” for converting bold policies into prosperity-boosting results.

He stressed federal-state partnerships as a “shared responsibility,” highlighting priorities like the Port Harcourt-Enugu rail line and power-sector reforms.
