The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, on Saturday, was joined by the suspected Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, at the burial of the Ministerโs uncle in Rumuepirikom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the State.
The burial of Wikeโs uncle is the first public place where the FCT Minister and Governor Fubara have appeared together since the peace deal brokered by President Bola Tinubu just two days earlier at the Presidential Villa.
The meeting of these two political leaders on Saturday at a solemn ceremony is perceived widely as a symbolic and practical opportunity to publicly demonstrate their renewed commitment to peace.
Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka wrote on his Facebook page, โMinister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, alongside the Governor Siminalayi Fubara, at the burial of Wikeโs Uncle in Rumuepirikom, Rivers State today.โ
Also attending the funeral ceremony with Minister Wike are the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, and other politicians and top dignitaries.
