President Bola Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media Dada Olusegun, has been named an honoree at the 15th Voice Achievers Award and Business Summit, the Netherlands-based publisher behind the prize said.

The ceremony is scheduled for August 21st 2026 at the Hilton London Kensington where Olusegun will receive “African Public Relations Excellence Award”.

Olusegun, who was appointed to his current role on July 10, 2023, has overseen the presidency’s digital communications during a period of heavy public scrutiny.

In his position, Olusegun has been responsible for reshaping how the presidential villa communicates online—moving beyond traditional press releases toward more interactive, rapid-response messaging aimed in part at younger Nigerians.

Those efforts, supporters say, include coordinating federal policy amplification across digital platforms and implementing protocols to counter misinformation.

He organized the Progressive Digital Media Summit at the Presidential Villa in 2025 and has been credited by allies with simplifying public messaging around policy initiatives such as the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas, NELFUND, CrediCorp and recent tax and economic reforms.

The recognition in London follows earlier accolades at home. In 2025 Olusegun was named Digital Icon of the Year at the Igbere TV Leadership Excellence Awards.

At the Voice Achievers event he will be listed among more than 30 African leaders and business figures invited as honorees and expected panelists.

The summit’s stated theme is “Putting Africa in the Right Perspective—Focusing on Mental Empowerment for Economic Inclusion & Growth.”

The programme includes a daytime business dialogue and an evening awards gala, fashion show and diaspora networking session.

The Voice Achievers Award, which began in 2012 in the Netherlands as a community initiative, has expanded into an international event staged in cities including Amsterdam, Dubai, Nairobi, Banjul and Lagos.

Past honorees and affiliated figures cited by the organizers include former heads of state and high-profile jurists and civic leaders from across the continent.

The platform says it aims to connect African leaders with diaspora stakeholders to promote economic and social initiatives.

The Presidency and Olusegun’s colleagues have issued congratulatory messages following the announcement.

Supporters hailed the honour as recognition of the administration’s modernization of its digital outreach and of Olusegun’s role in shaping presidential communications.
