President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Saturday for France, Kenya and Rwanda on a trip that will include two major international summits.

The President’s first stop will be France before he travels to Nairobi for the Africa-France Summit, scheduled for next week and co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President Bayo Onanuga in a statement said the summit will focus on energy transition, green industrialization, digital transformation, the restructuring of global financing architecture and climate action.

President Tinubu is expected to attend the meeting from May 11 to May 12.

His participation, the presidency said, would reinforce Nigeria’s commitment to strategic partnerships with African countries and France.

Held under the theme “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” the summit will bring together African and French leaders to discuss economic transformation, climate resilience, infrastructure, youth empowerment, technology and peace-building.

Onanuga said after the Nairobi meeting, President Tinubu will travel to Kigali for the annual Africa CEO Forum, set for May 14 to May 15.

This year’s forum, themed “Scale or Fail,” is expected to draw more than 2,000 business leaders, investors and policymakers.

The event will examine ways to speed up economic transformation through scale, regional integration and more cross-border investment.

The forum, held in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will focus on building more resilient and competitive industries across Africa.

President Tinubu is expected to use both gatherings to highlight his administration’s reforms aimed at making Nigeria a more attractive destination for investment and growth.

He will also meet with senior global and African business leaders.

The President will be accompanied by some Ministers and senior aides and is expected to return to the country after the Rwanda summit.
