President Bola Tinubu, along with prominent Nigerians, paid their final respects to his predecessor Muhammadu Buhari in his hometown of Daura, where he was laid to rest two days after his passing at the age of 82 in a London clinic.
Tinubu was joined by Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló and Buhari’s Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the solemn ceremony after the body of the immediate past President arrived in the country from London early Tuesday.
The corpse was received at the airport in Katsina state by Tinubu and other top dignitaries.
Late Buhari’s body was finally interred in a grave dug in the grounds of his home.
The ceremony was performed with the highest national honours witnessed the presence of top dignitaries including the leadership of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
