Director-General of the All Progressives Congress-Presidential Campaign Council (APC-PCC) Abdulaziz Yari has said God who granted President Bola Tinubu victory in 2023 will make Nigerians re-elect him for a second term.
Yari, a former Governor of Zamfara State, made the remarks in Mecca, where he joined Tinubu and other prominent politicians for the Umrah pilgrimage.
Yari said he had complete confidence in the party’s campaign strategy and in what he described as God’s role in political outcomes.
His comments followed a media appearance by Tinubu in Saudi Arabia, during which the president said he relied firmly on God for a second term.
“I believe that Allah’s wish in His court must prevail,” Yari said.
Tinubu, according to remarks cited by Yari said: “And there’s no other God but Allah,” adding that “God alone defines what a person will become.”
Yari said the president’s faith, governing record and the campaign council’s outreach would be decisive in next year’s election.
He said Tinubu had prayed for Nigeria and for Nigerians, and depended on God to secure victory as he did in 2023.
Yari, however, said the campaign team would not rely on prayer alone.
He said the team would engage voters directly, present the administration’s achievements and seek to convince Nigerians to support Tinubu again.
“Allah says we should work through all the procedures, to campaign, to talk to people, to convince them, and to show them what we have done and achieved,”
Yari said. “By God’s grace, people will be convinced to elect us once again.”
