Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and President of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA), Dr. Zacch Adedeji has described capacity building of tax personnel as a key element in strengthening tax administration processes in member countries of the CATA.
A statement made available on FIRS Facebook handle said that the agency’s chief executive statedl while addressing members of CATA at a meeting in London, United Kingdom.
Adedeji explained that expanding the capacity of tax personnel of CATA member countries would empower them to deal with the challenges that have negatively impacted the tax administration landscape globally.

The FIRS boss commended member countries that have agreed to host the Association’s programmes in 2024, indicating the importance of cooperation among member countries and the commitment to executing the strategic plan set to assist the administration.
Upon appointment as FIRS boss by President Bola Tinubu in September 2023, Adedeji also replaced Mohammed Nami as President of CATA..
