The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji on Monday visited the proposed new headquarters of the nation’s leading tax agency in Abuja to assess the progress and quality of work at the complex.
NewsQuest reports that the proposed new headquarters complex of the FIRS in Abuja is a large-scale project designed by ATO Architects and features three office towers with a total gross floor area of about 86,000 sqm, including 64,000 sqm of lettable office space.
Our correspondent gathered that the towers are 15 floors high, linked at the base with communal facilities, and amenities such as a gymnasium, clinic, religious facilities, and a helipad on the roof.
FIRS on its official Facebook page on Monday said the visit of the chairman is part of his commitment to delivering quality service to taxpayers.
“The visit aligns with the ECFIRS’s broader mandate to enhance operational efficiency and foster a more taxpayer-centric service environment,” the statement noted.
The new headquarters building has experienced delays over the years but as of early 2025, is actively progressing under the close supervision of Dr. Adedeji.
The FIRS boss’s hands-on leadership has reinvigorated the project and motivated the workers to ensure quality and timely completion efforts.
