Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, on Tuesday, inaugurated a Sub-Technical Committee on Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), to deepen technical cooperation between the two agencies.
FIRS in a statement on its Facebook page said the committee was inaugurated when the Executive Chairman hosted a delegation from the Internal Revenue Monitoring Committee (IRMC), a sub-committee of the RMAFC in Abuja.
“As part of the engagement, the ECFIRS formally inaugurated the FIRS Sub-Technical Committee on RMAFC, comprising members from both RMAFC and FIRS management, aimed at deepening technical cooperation between the two agencies,” the statement said.
NewsQuest gathered that during the meeting, the ECFIRS emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between RMAFC and FIRS, noting that such synergy has a direct and positive impact on the nation’s economy.
The new collaboration additionally targets to foster synergy and improve revenue mobilization and monitoring in order
to strengthen Nigeria’s revenue generation by leveraging technology and data sharing.
RMAFC’s Inland Revenue Department regularly monitors and analyzes FIRS revenue collections and remittances to the Federation Account, a system that helps to identify and block revenue leakages.
