Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda over the party’s excellent performance in last Saturday’s bye-elections 16 across 12 States of the Federation.
Governor Alia also commended all the candidates of the party who emerged victorious in the elections.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kulas, Governor Alia equally rejoiced with the entire APC faithful, describing the victory as a sign of wide acceptability and belief of Nigerians in the APC.
He said APC remains the most reliable platform to deliver good governance to them.
Alia therefore, expressed optimism that the latest victory will further spur all those elected on the platform of the ruling party to deliver more democratic dividends, consolidating the efforts of the Tinubu administration under the Renewed Hope agenda.
Governor Alia commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for being an unbiased umpire, as well as the security agencies for safeguarding the voters and ensuring orderliness during the process.
The Benue State Governor urged all the winners of the by-elections to put the people first when sworn into office.
The bye-elections included 2 senatorial districts in Anambra and Edo States, 5 federal constituencies in Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ogun, and Oyo States, as well as 9 state constituencies in Adamawa, Anambra, Kaduna (2), Kano, Kogi, Niger, Taraba, and Zamfara States.
The exercise also features court-ordered re-run elections conducted concurrently in Enugu South I State Constituency of Enugu State and Ghari/Tsanyawa State Constituency of Kano State.
