Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu has revealed that the operation of the N-Power programme along the lines of irregularities compelled the current administration of President Bola Tinubu to carry out a comprehensive review of the scheme for the benefit of all Nigerians.  The Minister explained that this was one of the reasons behind the suspension of the program. The Senate has called the attention of the Federal Government to the plight of over 1.5 million Benue residents who were displaced by bandits, saying that these people now impoverished urgently need to be resettled to resume their normal lives. Nigerian Labour Unions on Monday night suspended a planned nationwide strike that would have commenced on October 3, to protest a biting economy that resulted in hardship for Nigerians since the removal of petrol subsidy. The Federal Government, on Sunday, met with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) on measures to address the dispute arising from the removal of subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which unions have threatened to proceed on an indefinite strike October 3.
