President Bola Tinubu on Friday confirmed the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi as the substantive Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service after he assumed office in June this year.
A statement by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), said the appointment takes effect from 19th October, 2023 as his tenure is in accordance with the extant provisions of the Public Service Rules (PSR).
President Tinububhas tasks new Customs boss to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment.
Adeniyi took over from Hameed Ali, the immediate ex-comptroller-general of customs, appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
Adeniyi had been sdecorated with his new rank at the presidential villa by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
