The Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) has elected a new executive council, installing O’tega Ogra, a Senior Special Assistant on digital and new media to Prwsident Bola Tinubu, as its president for the 2026–28 term.
The council chosen at ADVAN’s Annual General Meeting includes Gloria Nwabuike of AACE Foods as first vice president; Maurice Igugu, chief marketing officer at The Alternative Bank, as second vice president; and Seni Ogunkola of T2 Mobile as treasurer. Other officers named were Adeola Amosun, group head, media at Tolaram, as publicity director, alongside executive council members Cassandra Uzo-Ogbugh (Reckitt Nigeria), James Odejimi (PZ), Martha Ojei Kayode (PZ Cussons), Omobolanle Osotule (Airtel Networks) and Oge Maduakwu (Samsung Electronics West Africa).
A statement by Ediri Ose-Ediale, the association’s Chief Executive Officer said the incoming leadership replaces the council led by outgoing president Osamede Uwubanmwen.
In brief remarks after the vote, Ogra thanked members for their confidence and said the new council would pursue an “inclusive, purposeful, and results-driven” agenda focused on member value, professional capacity building and tighter collaboration across the advertising ecosystem.
He listed priorities that include structured executive education and the creation of an ADVAN Institute of Marketing and Brand Leadership under a proposed ADVAN Business School to support research, training and the documentation of Nigerian marketing practice.
“Technology, artificial intelligence, data, regulation and shifting consumer behaviour are redefining the work we do,” Mr. Ogra said, adding that ADVAN should help members “understand these changes, prepare for them, and lead through them.”
On relations with regulators such as the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), he said the association would seek “constructive and principled engagement” aimed at rebuilding trust and reopening institutional channels, while defending members’ lawful interests.
The new council will assume its two-year mandate after an inaugural meeting, when it is expected to set out detailed strategic priorities and an implementation plan.
ADVAN represents advertisers and marketing professionals across major corporations and small and medium enterprises, and it promotes professional standards and industry development in Nigeria.
