African leaders will converge on Abuja on Tuesday for the second edition of the Oxford Global Think Tank (OGTT) Leadership Conference, a high-level gathering focused on charting practical pathways to a more prosperous future for Africa.
The theme of this year’s conference, “Leadership for a Prosperous Future,” comes at a defining moment for the continent, as rapid advances in artificial intelligence, shifting global power dynamics, demographic changes, and evolving economic realities reshape the world.
Hosted by the Oxford Global Think Tank, founded by Arunma Oteh, the conference will bring together influential African leaders and thought leaders to examine the leadership choices, institutional reforms, technological innovations, and investments required to turn Africa’s enormous potential into broad-based and sustainable prosperity.
The Conference Media Adviser, Chris Isiguzo, said the gathering will be co-chaired by His Highness Muhammadu Sanusi II, Emir of Kano, and Atedo Peterside, founder of the ANAP Foundation, while Dr Akinwumi Adesina, former President of the African Development Bank and Executive Chairman of the Global Africa Investment Summit, will deliver the keynote address.
The event will also feature a distinguished line-up of leaders, including Governor Alex Otti of Abia State; Dr Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy; Mrs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs; Dr Kanayo Awani, Executive Vice President of Afreximbank; Dr Emomotimi Agama, Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); and Mr Gbenga Agboola, CEO of Flutterwave.
He said the event will bring together leading voices from government, business, technology, finance, and civil society.
Participants will interrogate some of the most pressing questions confronting Africa, with discussions organised around three key pillars: resilience, innovation, and dynamism.
A major highlight will be a special spotlight on artificial intelligence, including the launch of an AI report and an AI Virtual Centre, as well as an AI exhibition showcasing the transformative possibilities of emerging technologies for Africa.
“Africa’s future will be shaped by the quality of leadership and the choices its institutions and leaders make today,” Isiguzo said.
He also stated: “This conference provides an opportunity to bring diverse voices together around ideas and practical solutions that can help build a more prosperous and inclusive future.”
