The Tinubu Must Stay Movement (TMSM) has appointed Marcel Ngogbehei, as Director-General of its alliance with the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration, a move that signals an effort to consolidate political support ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the movement’s board chairman and convener, announced the appointment, citing Ngogbehei’s experience in Nigerian and British public institutions, technology, grassroots organizing and community development.
He said the new director-general would oversee the alliance’s organizational coordination, grassroots engagement and civic-accountability work.
Ngogbehei’s appointment underscores a notable shift in Nigeria’s opposition-aligned civic politics.
He was a pioneer organizer of the Obidient Movement, served as director of strategy for the Peter Obi Support Network and later chaired the Coalition for Peter Obi, helping coordinate voter-registration drives and grassroots mobilization during the 2023 campaign.
He subsequently led the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration, which convened a national strategy meeting in September 2026 to consider new partnerships amid prolonged turmoil within the Labour Party.
The organization later formalized its alliance with the Tinubu Must Stay Movement.
Before entering political organizing, Ngogbehei held senior technology roles at Galaxy Backbone and the Central Bank of Nigeria, where Abdullahi said the two worked on initiatives including the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) a data center, the Central Bank’s cashless policy and its enterprise-architecture function.
Abdullahi said those projects were intended to improve government efficiency and reduce waste, adding that the enterprise-architecture initiative helped the central bank save more than $1 million.
Ngogbehei also led projects in the U.K. Civil Service and holds a computer and electronics engineering degree from Lagos State University, along with executive education from London Business School and Harvard Business School.
Beyond government and politics, Ngogbehei founded GiveBack2Humanity, a youth-mentorship and volunteerism initiative, and the Marcel Ngogbehei Center for Cancer Education and Care.
In January, he announced a community scholarship program intended to broaden educational opportunities for young people.
Abdullahi said the appointment comes as the alliance seeks to build its structures and define its agenda.
“We need someone who can listen to ordinary Nigerians, coordinate our structures and ensure that our activities are guided by clear objectives and measurable results,” he said.
