President Bola Tinubu announced Wednesday that 38 Federal Ministries and extra‑ministerial departments have migrated to a secure, paperless workflow system, marking a visible step in the administration-wide drive to digitize Nigeria’s civil service.

Speaking at the opening of the 2026 International Civil Service Conference in Abuja, President Tinubu who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume said the shift from manual processes to end‑to‑end electronic workflows reflects the government’s effort to modernize public administration and improve responsiveness.

He delivered the remarks at the 2026 International Civil Service Conference in Abuja.

“Where digitalisation was an aspiration in 2025, it is now execution,” Tinubu said, adding that the reforms under his Renewed Hope Agenda were yielding “measurable impact” across the public sector.

The digital transition is intended to speed transactions, increase transparency and support data‑driven decision‑making, he said.

The President tied the paperless initiative to a broader slate of reforms, including a near‑complete personnel audit and skills‑gap analysis designed to identify competency shortfalls and reposition civil servants for “21st‑century governance.”

He also referenced Project BRIDGE—an initiative the administration says will build digital infrastructure to attract investment, spur job creation and expand connectivity.

President Tinubu praised Mrs. Didi Esther Walson Jack, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, for driving implementation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025.

He noted the introduction of tools such as “Service Wise GPT” into civil‑service operations as an example of institutional adoption of artificial‑intelligence technology.

The President  urged conference attendees to treat the gathering as a “results laboratory” for deeper, irreversible reforms and stronger accountability across government institutions.

He said the administration is opening Nigeria’s digital‑infrastructure ecosystem to investors and development partners to accelerate the changes.
