APC convention gathers 8,453 delegates in Abuja to elect new national leadership

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will convene its national convention on Friday, drawing 8,453 delegates to the Eagle Square Abuja, to elect new leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris, confirmed the delegate count at a news conference organized by the convention’s media and publicity committee.

“8,453 delegates will participate in the forthcoming national convention of the All Progressives Congress,” Minister Idris said.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President joined in the world press conference hosted by the committee earlier on Friday.

NewsQuest reports that the gathering comes as the ruling party positions itself for national polls early next year.

According to the programme scheduled for the convention, President Bola Tinubu is expected to grace the occasion later in the evening on Friday.
