Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has appointed a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chief of Staff effective immediately, in a move that caps a broader government reshuffle.

Dr Dagogo S.A. Wokoma takes over as SSG, while Barrister Sunny Ewule becomes the Chief of Staff.

The new appointees are due to be sworn in at 2pm today at the Executive Council Chamber.

The announcement, signed by Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Onwuka Nzeshi, gave no reasons for the changes.

NewsQuest reports that there is also no word yet on the fate of the previous officeholders.

The shake-up follows reports that Governor Fubara recently dissolved his cabinet of eight commissioners and dismissed all special advisers.
