Kaduna Governor Sani engages UN’s Deputy Scribe Amina on development initiatives

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani hosted the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed on Sunday as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to foster development and collaborate with international organizations.

The visit of the UN Deputy Secretary -General is seen largely as a deliberate strategic step to advance key developmental issues, especially in the education sector aligning with the theme of the recent Nigeria International Conference on Education (KADA EduPACT 2025), hosted by the Kaduna State Governor.

Governor Sani in a post on his official Facebook page wrote “Today, I had the honor of receiving the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina J. Mohammed, GCON, on a courtesy visit to my office at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna.

“Our discussions focused on key developmental issues affecting Kaduna State. We also explored ways to further strengthen collaboration with UN development agencies operating in Nigeria.”

The Kaduna State Governor explained that he seized the opportunity to express sincere appreciation for the Deputy Secretary General’s participation and keynote address at the recently concluded Kada EduPACT International Summit.

“Her participation added immense value to the event. We are proud of her exemplary leadership on the global stage and reaffirm our commitment to supporting her as she continues to champion sustainable development through her work at the United Nations,” the Governor noted.

NewsQuest reports that the UN deputy scribe during the visit described Governor Sani’s leadership qualities as visionary and transformative, particularly emphasizing his impact in the education sector.

Amina also commended his approach to governance that inspires positive change and development in Kaduna State.
