Kaduna State stakeholders on Wednesday assured President Bola Tinubu of landslide win in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
A delegation from the State, led by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas visited President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja where they made the commitment.
The stakeholders who represented all three senatorial zones in the State were on a show of solidarity rarely seen in the State’s fractious politics.
“This is purely a courtesy visit from we the stakeholders from Kaduna State,” the speaker said, introducing himself as the voice of the northern zone, Comrade Shehu Sani from the central zone, and Senator Sunday Marshall Katung from the southern zone.
Speaker Abbas credited Governor Uba Sani’s outreach for flipping the southern zone—long a stronghold of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—into the APC fold.
“In the other dispensations, Kaduna has not been too lucky for APC because the acceptability of APC was just limited to zone one and zone two,” the speaker noted.
“But because of the ingenuity of our Governor, he has been able to reach out to zone three… and today, the story is, APC is the dominant party in all the three zones.”
Senator Katung, who defected from the PDP less than two months ago alongside other PDP lawmakers, echoed the optimism.
“We’ve done our homework and we are still working, trying to woo those who are still sitting on the sidelines to ensure that they come and embrace the APC,” he said.
He acknowledged federal investments in his Kaduna South district, including a new University and Federal Medical Centre, alongside the Governor’s projects, as proof of “inclusiveness.”
On his part, Comrade Shehu Sani describe the shift as historic.
NewsQuest reports that Kaduna State, once the capital of northern Nigeria, has seen its Muslim-majority north back APP, CPC, or APC since 1999, while the Christian south stuck with PDP.
“This is the first time… where the Muslim North and the Christian South are all united and resolved to re-elect Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Tinubu in 2027,” Sani said.
He pointed to federal gains in health, education, and infrastructure, plus the governor’s bridge-building, as the foundation for unity.
The group pledged to leverage these “verifiable achievements” for an APC sweep.
“Kaduna is ready, battle ready to ensure that Mr. President and all other candidates under the APC platform will get landslide victory come 2027 election,” the stakeholders noted.
