Former Governor of Zamfara State Abdulaziz Yari, has been appointed Director-General of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC), presidential campaign council as President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima were named chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
The council list, released by the presidency on Saturday also named Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary. Senator Ajibola Bashiru and Hadiza Bala-Usman as deputy and assistant secretaries.
In a statement by Special Adviser on Informer and Strategy to the President Bayo Onanuga, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the APC national chairman, will serve as a vice chairman alongside party leaders who will assist the President.
President Tinubu’s advisory team on the campaign includes senior party figures such as Chief Bisi Akande, Chief Segun Osoba, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.
The campaign structure assigns high-profile lawmakers and Governors to regional leadership roles.
According to the statement, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abass and Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as deputy Director-Generals responsible for southern and northern operations, working with Senators Bamidele Opeyemi and Jibril Barau in their respective zones.
Former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole will oversee mobilisation as a Director-General, while the President’s Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila will act as deputy Director-General for administration.
James Abiodun Faleke, credited with a key role in the 2022–23 campaign, returns as deputy Director-General for election planning, coordination and monitoring.
Faleke will coordinate zonal directors: Senator Olushola Adeyeye (South West), Dr. Ngozi Olejeme (South South), Senator Uche Ekwunife (South East), Muntaqha Rabe (North West), Ahmed Muhammed Ketso (North Central) and Senator Sani Danladi (North East). Ms. Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori who were named secretaries of the election-planning directorate.
Muiz Adeyemi Banire will head the legal directorate with Dr. Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala as deputies.
Other legal team members include Prince Lateef Fagbemi and former Katsina governor Ibrahim Shema, among others.
According to the statement, the Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris will coordinate the communication arm of the campaign and will be assisted by Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.
The media directorate roster features Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka as coordinating deputies; Segun Dada returns as director of new media, with Solomon Arowolo as secretary.
The campaign also named five official spokespersons, led by Dele Alake.
President Tinubu urged council members to “work tirelessly to deliver victory” in the January 2027 elections and asked directorate leaders to broaden recruitment beyond the formal list.
The statement described the campaign as a defence of the administration’s economic record and a bid to sustain momentum toward broader prosperity.
