Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia on Tuesday declared that the greatness of the food basket state, in achieving any meaningful development lies in the unity of the people across all devide, including its leaders.
The Governor while speaking with journalists after the visit of Vice President Kashim Shettima to Makurdi, the Benue State capital for the launching of the first expanded Micro Small And Medium Enterprises (MSME) clinics, said Benue under his administration was set for progress.
“As a State, we owe it to the good people of Benue to be a unified force. We must have a common purpose for us to gear forward, for us to bring development, and we must not be shy of that,” Governor Alia noted.
The Governor explained that, “as the Vice President called, it remains our own call, to be a formidably united, we fight a common enemy. We have been fighting insecurity, you can’t fight insecurity without in isolation.

“I wouldn’t want our State capital to keep looking as a glorified village, so, we need to pump in all our energies and the little resources we have to take the State forward, beginning with the capital here..”
Speaking on the visit by the political big wigs, Governor Alia said, “what has happened today, again, is a reinforcement of a united Benue.
“The President came in with all the entourage, all the sons and daughters of Benue at the National Assembly accompanied him to this task.”
Among the political leaders who joined Vice President Shettima to the MSME launch, were the majority leader of the Senate, Senator Abba Moro, Minister of Water Resources Professor Joseph Tsev, Honourable Blessing Onuh who is member of the House of Representatives, Chief Banabas Gemade, and Barrister Emmanuel Jime.
