President Bola Tinubu on Monday inaugurated the newly appointed Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), Dr. Saviour Enyiekere, and Mark Tersoo Hanmation as member, and eleven others for a five-year renewable tenure.
Hanmation represents North Central in the commission.
The President who performed the ceremony shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja, also swore in two new Permanent Secretaries.
Dr. Enyiekere as chairman and the twelve commissioners who took their oath of office were picked from the six geopolitical zones.
Other sworn-in commissioners include Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi and Hon. Yusuf A. Yusuf Tabuka (North West); Aminu Ibrahim Malle and Alhaji Lawan Maina Mahmud (North East); Salihu Umar Agboola Balogun (North Central); Hon. Taiwo Olukemi Oluga and Hon. Afeez Ipeza-Balogun (South West); Hon. Dr. Nnanna Uzor Kalu and Festus Ifesinachi Odii (South East); and Patrick A. Giwa and Mrs. Mary Ekpenyong (South South).
Those present at Wednesday’s FEC meeting, included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and Ministers.
President Tinubu had appointed the new leadership of the NASS Service Commission in February this year to continue in its role of managing human resource and administrative regulations for National Assembly staff in ensuring effective legislative support.
