NewsQuest reports that Thursday session is seen as a comprehensive assessment of security conditions across multiple theatres of operation.

The meeting came few hours after earlier comments by Nuhu Ribadu warning that kidnapping has become one of Nigeria’s most urgent threats.

Ribadu said criminal groups are using more sophisticated tactics, exploiting technology and operating across jurisdictions, and urged sustained interagency cooperation, timely intelligence‑sharing and coordinated operational responses.

Ribadu delivered his remarks through Major Gen. Adamu Garba Laka (retd.), national coordinator of the National Counter‑Terrorism Centre, at a separate Abuja event earlier.
