Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia on Monday launched a statewide “Thank‑You Tour,” signaling a drive to demonstrate results from his administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement by the Information Commissioner Solomon Iorpev, Governor Alia ordered his newly appointed Commissioners to assume their duties immediately and deliver measurable outcomes for residents.
The Governor announced the assignment of the seven sworn-in commissioners to substantive Ministries.
The new commissioners Elizabeth Onma, Ministry of Special Duties and Related Matters, Kuma Aii Yenge, Ministry of Works, Roy Ashirga, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Angwa Egbe Monday, Ministry of Science and Technology; tasked with establishing a Ministry of Natural Resources, and Amo Ankwa II, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Others are Rt. Hon. Nick Eworo, Ministry of Youths, Sports and Creativity, and Chief Solomon Iorpev, Ministry of Information and Orientation.
Governor Alia urged the commissioners to apply diligence, transparency and urgency in executing their mandates, and ordered the assignments to take effect immediately,
The statement said Governor Alia will tour projects across Benue’s 11 federal constituencies.
The second such tour since he took office, the visits are billed as expressions of gratitude to All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters, political stakeholders, traditional rulers, government appointees and other local actors who backed his administration.
Members of the public and stakeholders have been invited to receive the Governor and participate in the engagement series.
