President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday lauded Vice President Kashim Shettima for his loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and his role in advancing the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, as Shettima marked his 60th birthday on Wednesday.
In a statement issued to commemorate the Vice President’s vice milestone, Tinubu described Shettima as a “trusted partner” whose “loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty” have been “invaluable” to the government.
He thanked Vice President Shettima for his “steadfast support” and said the partnership between the two leaders would continue to deliver progress toward their shared vision for Nigeria.
“Kashim is not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague, but also a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes,” the President said, noting Shettima’s previous career in banking and his public service as governor of Borno State and now as vice president.
President Tinubu highlighted Shettima’s role as chairman of the National Economic Council, saying he “provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policy and fostering collaboration” between the federal government and subnational authorities.
He also praised the Vice President’s respect for constitutional governance, democratic institutions and consultative dialogue.
The President president prayed for Shettima’s continued health and guidance, wishing him “many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.”
