Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, who serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, on Tuesday said that the group will coordinate closely with the presidential campaign council to secure President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The Imo Governor who was recently appointed into the presidential campaign council as Secretary disclosed this on Tuesday in an interview in Abuja, explained that RHA will continue its broader public‑information work beyond the election cycle.
Uzodimma described Renewed Hope Ambassadors as a nationwide grassroots information network that operates from the polling‑unit level to national structures, explaining that its primary role has been to communicate the Buhari administration’s reforms and achievements to Nigerians.
“Renewed Hope Ambassadors in itself is also a kind of campaign that we are already doing. Yes, we are present in virtually all the polling units, from polling units to the ward level, to local government level, up to the state and zonal and national,” he said.
“Our job has always been to let Nigerians know the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the achievements of the government, the dividends of all the various reform policies brought out, and how Nigeria has started a reorganic growth from what we used to know.”
Governor Uzodimma sought to draw a distinction between the formal political machinery of the presidential campaign council and the Ambassadors’ stated mission of public education.
He said the campaign council’s constitution is “purely a political issue,” while Renewed Hope Ambassadors is “beyond politics” because it is tasked with explaining policy and amplifying the government’s record — though he acknowledged the group will “tacitly convey” reasons why Tinubu should be returned to office.
“As the head of the secretariat,” Governor Uzodimma added, referring to his role as secretary of the presidential campaign council, “I will work together with the Presidential Campaign Council to deliver the 2027 election, and Renewed Hope Ambassadors will continue beyond the elections because this is the organic structure of Mr. President to let Nigerians know what he is doing.”
NewsQuest reports that Governor Uzodimma’s comments aimed at quelling questions about whether the formal campaign structure would eclipse or absorb the Ambassadors.
He disclosed that some elements even within the APC party structure had wished the Renewed Hope Ambassadors be dissolved following the announcement of the presidential campaign council.
“No, rather it will augment what Renewed Hope Ambassadors are doing already, and there will be appropriate synergy working together,” he said.
“Renewed Hope Ambassadors was created by Mr. President, not by Senator Hope Uzodinma,” he told attendees. “Upon the creation of Renewed Hope Ambassadors, we were charged with the responsibility of taking the achievements of the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the people, to educate the people, to create awareness, to let the people know the difference between Nigeria before 2023 and Nigeria after 2023.”
It is expected that the blend of a civic‑education network with formal campaign operations could strengthen outreach in rural and urban wards alike.
Governor Uzodimma described the effort in market terms, saying the Ambassadors and campaign council would act as marketers for President Tinubu’s record.
“The primary purpose is to win our elections and to let Nigerians know what good things President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing. The product here is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are all marketers, so we are going to work hand in hand,” he said.
“We have no doubt that Nigerians are coming to terms with the new order,” he said, adding that the presidential campaign council is a temporary, election-focused body while the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will continue to function beyond the campaign season. “You are like the barracks. Soldiers will come, soldiers will go, barrack will remain.”
Governor Uzodinma said that mischief prompted him to convene the meeting to reassure members and prevent demoralization.
“As I speak, there is an ongoing media tour of all the six geopolitical zones, highlighting the achievements of Renewed Hope and the achievements of Mr. President,” he said. “So we are still here.”
The Imo Governor announced plans for a high-profile summit in the third week of September. Organized in partnership with the Progressive Governors Forum and local government chairmen, he said the event will convene politically elected and appointed officials from across Nigeria and feature addresses by President Tinubu and the Vice President.
Uzodinma framed the Renewed Hope Ambassadors as both a communication mechanism for policy outreach and a mobilization vehicle for votes, urging members to continue grassroots campaigning. “Our product is the president and our commitment is to go there and win election,” he said. “We need every vote in Nigeria. Every vote.”
President Tinubu’s administration seeks to consolidate gains from its economic reforms amid mixed public reactions to policies such as subsidy removal, currency adjustments, and fiscal tightening as strong campaign message to secure the votes of Nigerians.
