President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu as Executive Secrtary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), replacing Ahmed Galadima Aminu, who stepped down to pursue the 2027 governorship in Adamawa State.

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President Bayo Onanuga in a statement on Thursday said President Tinubu also renewed Engineer Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz’s appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) for a second and final term.

He said both changes take effect immediately.

A seasoned academic and administrator, Aliyu brings deep expertise in research, education, and institutional leadership to PTDF, a key funder of skills training for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Onanuga said President Tinubu expects him to drive innovation and human-capital development in line with national energy priorities.

He said Abdulaziz’s renewal follows a review of his track record, which includes enhanced grid stability, expanded transmission capacity, and modernization efforts at TCN, the operator of Nigeria’s power grid.

“With more than 30 years in the sector, he has also advanced regional integration via the West African Power Pool,” the statement noted.

The President called on both leaders to uphold integrity and align with his Renewed Hope Agenda.
