A group of professionals, Club De Pals has recognized a former governorship aspirant from Benue State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Godwin Ityoachimin with an award for committed service to the community.
Club De Pals is a non-partisan community-focused organization aimed at fostering unity among the Tiv people with the motto “Unity in Friendship”.
The event was held in Abuja during the Club’s annual reunion and awards ceremony where other distinguished members of the club were also recognized for their outstanding qualities.
The group has said that it is committed to the socio-economic development of Tiv nation and Benue state in general, an obligation it has faithfully discharged in over 25 years of its existence
Speaking at the event, Honourable Ityoachimin noted the importance of unity amongst various ethnic nationalities in the country, especially the Tiv people.
Honourable Ityoachimin who hopes to actualize his governorship ambition come 2027 in Benue, appreciated members of the Club De Pals for finding him worthy of the award.
He said that the gesture would spur others to also emulate the good works of members who gave recognized as a sign of encouragement.
“I am not given to receiving awards like that, but when I was convinced about the integrity of the club and what they stand for, i no option than to accept the honour from the organizers and so, i do not take it for granted at all” he said.

He also contributed a token to the unveiling of the proposed Club House building design with a promise to support more when the foundation is laid and the development of the building commences.
President of the group, Pal Richard Nduul said the award is part of the association’s contributions to nation-building in recognizing those who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the nation, Benue Stare, and Tiv land in particular through their careers in the public and professional services and other areas of endeavour.
“In Tyoachimin’s particular case, the selection committee found him worthy for the exemplary manner he has contributed to the development of his community in various ways over the years,” Nduul said.
