Former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President Bola Tinubu, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale on Saturday exchanged views with the 14th President of the World Bank Group on initiatives to deliver basic healthcare across the globe.
Ajuri in a statement said Mr. Ajay Banga met with him on the sidelines of the High-Level Forum on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Tokyo, Japan.
NewsQuest reports that Mr. Banga took office on June 2, 2023, leading the World Bank to end extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity, focusing on mobilizing private capital and addressing climate change challenges.
“It was a tremendous honour to exchange views with the 14th President of the World Bank Group, Mr. Ajay Banga, on the sidelines of the High-Level Forum on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Tokyo, Japan, today,” the former presidential spokesman said.
According to him. “Mr. Banga’s historic effort to deliver qualitative basic healthcare to 1.5 billion people across the globe is inspiring a new era of partnership and a collaborative paradigm on the part of world leaders to leverage each other’s strengths for collective progress in human capital development.”
Ajuri said “Combined with his peerless focus on delivering sustainable energy to 300 million African citizens, a vision for the world that responsibly caters to its most disadvantaged inhabitants is taking shape and striding forward into manifestation.”
The 2025 UHC was hosted by the Government of Japan alongside the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank.
The forum brought together senior officials from ministries of health and finance, international organizations, the private sector, civil society, and development partners to discuss advancing UHC through health financing innovations and systems reforms.
