Deji’s 11-year reign marks stability, cultural revival and development says Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti

Dr. Taiwo Olumide Fasoranti, a prominent elder and public figure in Ondo State, has praised the 11th anniversary of Oba (Dr.) Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade, CFR, Odundun II, the Deji of Akure, as a milestone that showcases stability, cultural renewal and pragmatic leadership in the kingdom.

Dr. Fasoranti in a statement Friday said the monarch’s decade-plus on the throne has gone beyond ceremonial duties to become “a celebration of purposeful leadership,” crediting the palace with promoting unity, restoring the cultural stature of the Akure Kingdom and fostering ties with indigenes both at home and in the diaspora.

“For eleven years, Your Imperial Majesty has reigned with grace, wisdom, and an unshakable commitment to peace and progress,” Dr. Fasoranti said, adding that the palace has evolved into “a citadel of counsel, a sanctuary of tradition, and a driving force for socio-economic advancement.”

The statement noted the monarch’s approach of blending traditional institutions with contemporary development priorities.

That melding, Dr. Fasoranti said, has “rekindled pride in our noble heritage” and won the Deji broad reverence across Akure’s communities.

As residents and well-wishers mark the anniversary, Dr. Fasoranti offered prayers for the monarch’s health and longevity and urged continued stability and prosperity for the kingdom.

NewsQuest reports that Oba Aladelusi, who took the throne in 2015 as the 47th Deji of Akure, has presided over a period in which traditional rulers in the country have increasingly positioned themselves as interlocutors between local communities and state authorities, advocating for cultural preservation while engaging with development initiatives. He succeeded  the late Oba Adebiyi Adesida.

Observers say the Deji’s tenure has mirrored that national trend, combining ceremonial leadership with visible involvement in local socio-economic matters.
