Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State on Thursday opened talks with the Israeli government for a partnership of innovative solutions that would foster economic growth and enhance the well-being of his people.

Israel is renowned for its thriving tech sector, including software, biotechnology, manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism, areas, in which the Benue State government seeks to take advantage.

“Today, I had the honour of welcoming the Ambassador of Israel to Nigeria, His Excellency Michael Freeman, and his team to our beloved state; the Food Basket of the Nation,” Governor Alia said on his Facebook page.

Governor Alia explained that the visit was not just a diplomatic exchange; but a reaffirmation of the strong and enduring partnership between Israel and Nigeria, with immense potential for collaboration in various sectors vital to the growth of Benue State.

“From agriculture to technology, security to energy, we are ready to work with Israel to unlock innovative solutions that will help us build a greater Benue for our people. We are excited about deepening our cooperation in areas such as; sustainable agriculture and water management, digital transformation and innovation, security and humanitarian response programmes as well as education and healthcare improvements.

“The greatest asset of any nation is its people,” Alia added.

The Benue State Governor noted that by collaborating with Israel, his government can harness the power of innovation and expertise to create a lasting impact for the good people of the State.

“I am confident that this visit will mark the beginning of a transformative journey, one that will see Benue State rise to new heights of prosperity and opportunity,” he said.
