The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered judgment stopping forthwith Governors of the 36 States of the Federation from any interference and holding of funds belonging to the 774 local government councils of the federation.  The judgment followed a suit instituted by the Federal Government against the 36 state governors of the federation on local government autonomy. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) is currently in talks with the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in a measure to completely halt cross-border smuggling of Premium Motor Spirit (also known as petrol). Group Chief Executive Officer of (NNPCL), Mele Kyari has announced that the drive to bring Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) closer to Nigerians has since commenced and is irreversible. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has praised the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo’s contributions to Nigeria’s 71.04 percent audit rating by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Mr Michael Achimugu, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of NCAA, made the commendation before journalists on Tuesday in Lagos.
