Professor Nentawe Yilwatda has been confirmed as national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with Surajudeen Basiru chosen as national secretary, in a consensus-driven vote at the party’s fourth elective national convention, in Abuja.

The announcements came from the Convention Election Committee during the gathering at Eagle Square, where several other party officials were also selected without contest.

President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House Tajudeen Abbas attended the event, themed “Unity in Progress: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda.”

The convention was overseen by a planning committee chaired by Aminu Masari, a former Governor of Katsina State, and Anyim Pius Anyim, a former secretary to the government of the federation.
