Women in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, have declared their total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, pledging to mobilize grassroots support for the administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
The declaration followed a sensitisation and mobilisation tour of Nembe City and Opu-Nembe by Nembe Se Unites, a socio-cultural group.
The campaign, themed the “Ama-Ama (Village to Village) Tour for PBAT,” is designed to mobilise rural women behind the president’s re-election bid.
Beatrice Numonyo Awululu, p
President and Convener of Nembe Se Unites, said the group is encouraging women to collect their Permanent Voter Cards and vote for Tinubu.
She said women are among the most active participants in Nigerian politics and argued that the president’s administration has delivered development benefits to Nembe and the wider Bayelsa East region through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
“The theme is Ama-Ama Tour, which is from village to village to preach the gospel for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election,” Awululu said.
“Through the NDDC, President Bola Tinubu has done well”, she said, adding that “And he is going to do more for our people.”
Awululu praised Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri, NDDC Managing Director Sam Ogbuku, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, known as Tompolo, and Chief Kojo Sam for supporting the president’s re-election effort.
She said the women back Tinubu so that, if re-elected, he can expand development in the area.
Seiyefa Clinton, Coordinator of the Ama-Ama tour in Opu-Nembe, said the campaign draws on a traditional Nembe practice of community deliberation and consensus.
She said the women had agreed to support the APC and Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Abel IkioMuna Faith, Secretary-General of the group, said Nembe women would speak with one voice and support their grand patron, Chief Kojo Sam, in mobilising votes for the president.
Other group leaders, including Inigoni Gamage of Nembe City and Fakuma Ederson Zebidi of Okoroma, said the level of mobilisation would leave opposition parties with little room to challenge the APC in the 2027 presidential election.
The Nembe effort follows earlier APC-led tours in Nembe and Brass communities, where party figures urged residents to support Tinubu, citing NDDC projects and rural development as reasons to back his second-term bid.
