Kaduna Governor Sani names new commissioners, board chiefs to fast-track reform agenda

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has named a slate of commissioners, board chairmen and senior aides in a bid to speed implementation of his administration’s reform agenda and improve public service delivery.

The appointments include Ben Kure as commissioner for sports development; Amina Akilu Dalhat as commissioner for special duties I; Abdullahi Garba Abbas as commissioner for special duties II; and Dr. Halliru Soba as deputy chief of staff (administration).

Governor Sani also tapped new leaders for a number of state agencies and boards including Alhaji Munir Jafaru as chairman of the Kaduna State Health Care Board; Air Vice Marshal Bashir Gamagira Saidu as chairman of the Kaduna Vigilance Service Board; retired Justice Gideon Isa Kurada as chairman of the College of Education, Gidan Waya; Esther Bago as chairman of the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development; Dr. Yusuf Aliyu Bature as chairman of the Kaduna Hospital Supply Management Agency; and Engineer Namadi Musa as chairman of the Kaduna Rural Access Roads Authority.

The Governor described the moves as part of efforts to accelerate development, deepen institutional reform and promote sustainable economic growth.

In a statement, Governor Sani said the appointees were chosen for “their proven track record of excellence, integrity and dedication” and urged them to bring new perspectives, reject complacency and implement the administration’s vision for a transformed, resilient state.

The appointments were announced by Ibraheem Musa, the Governor’s chief press secretary.
