Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke paid a courtesy call Thursday to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, continuing a string of meetings with senior prominent figures after his re-election last Saturday.
A photograph posted on X by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, showed the two men standing together and holding Adeleke’s Certificate of Return.
The aide captioned the image: “Governor Ademola Adeleke visits the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.”
The visit came a few hours after Governor Adeleke presented his Certificate of Return to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, an indication his new term’s early focus on cultivating ties with influential stakeholders.
The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Governor Adeleke the winner of the August 15 governorship contest after he secured 511,067 votes, beating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815.
Governor Adeleke carried 19 of Osun’s 30 local government areas.
In an online video, popular Nigerian-American Afrobeats singer David Adedeji Adeleke, simply called Davido is seen throwing banters with the FCT Minister – ‘I won, I beat you guys’.
Davido is reported to have mobilized massive support, especially the young population, on social media for the reelection of the Osun Governor.
