A federal delegation touring strategic projects in Kogi State on Sunday said President Bola Tinubu’s reform agenda is freeing resources for infrastructure and human-capital investments across the country with highly mutual benefits.

The group, made up of Renewed Hope Ambassadors and members of the Presidential Communications Team, began inspections in Kabba at the junction linking the Abuja–Lokoja Expressway to the Lokoja–Benin corridor.

A statement by the Director Media for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Tunde Rahman said the Abuja–Lokoja segment, long neglected by previous administrations, has been split into five contracts to accelerate completion under the federal programme.

“The Abuja–Lokoja highway had been in a very deplorable condition due to abandonment by past administrations but has now been earmarked for completion by President Bola Tinubu,” Kogi State Commissioner for Works Salami Ozigi Dedaat said, applauding federal approval of the project.

The delegation also visited Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, where state and federal investments have financed new academic buildings and student housing.

Mohammed Ahmed, the University’s Director of Administration, said the Tertiary Education Trust Fund financed faculty complexes in science, environmental sciences, management and social sciences, and anatomy, with total spending exceeding N2.3 billion.

TETFund also contributed to the school’s 2025 Special Intervention under the Renewed Hope Initiative, Ahmed said, funding a female hostel, maintenance projects and academic supports.

Federal investments at the University include the Barefoot Renewable Energy College and a Green Hydrogen Research and Demonstration Pilot Plant, installed by the Energy Commission of Nigeria. Otega Ogra, senior special assistant to the president on digital engagement, said the facilities are designed to build practical skills in renewable technologies and create a workforce able to install and maintain clean-energy systems.

“The college is the second globally, after the one in India. The hydrogen plant is the second in Africa,” he said.

Sunday Dare, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication  and leader of the delegation, attributed the campus developments to Tinubu’s fiscal reforms, which he said have released funds to states.

“For the 21st-century economy, there is primacy for science and technology,” Dare said.

He credited continuity between former Governor Yahaya Bello and current Governor Usman Ododo for advancing projects.

In Kogi West, the team inspected Kogi State University in Kabba, Mopa Primary Health Centre, several completed inner roads in Kabba-Bunu and an erosion-control project under an agro-climatic resilience initiative promoted by Governor Ododo.

At a reception on Saturday, Kogi’s commissioner for information, Kingsley Olorunfemi Fanwo, described the state’s “Kogi Rebrand Initiative” as an effort to change perceptions through infrastructure and people-oriented programs.

NewsQuest reports that the inspections highlight the federal government’s effort to showcase how nationwide reforms translate into local projects that combine traditional infrastructure with investments in education and renewable energy.
